Pepper Bottle Technologies is a scam and a rip-off, plain and simple. I was originally contacted by their fast talking salesman, “Josh Tiffany,” in August, 2010, and foolishly agreed to sign a cleverly written, deceptive contract, which guarantees a full refund if their promised result of first-page search engine placement could not be accomplished (it never was). I only wish I had checked review sites before doing so. I subsequently spoke to Pepper Bottle’s “Director of Client Care”, Allison Bubert, on at least three occasions, and she repeatedly asked me to “give them more time.” When I tried to contact them again, in January, 2011, I discovered that their phone numbers were no longer in service. After disputing the charges through my credit card company I received the rudest phone call imaginable from their representative, Alys Lever. When I mentioned their money-back guarantee she replied, “well, I guess it’s your word against ours, isn’t it?” When I asked about other customer complaints, at first she told me that they had received very few complaints, but then a moment later acknowledged that she dealt with phone calls like mine, ”over and over, every day.” When I asked to speak to Allison Bupert, who had appeared to be so helpful and conciliatory in the past, she replied that Allison refused to speak to me. Finally, when I said that I felt like I’d been scammed, she became instantly angry and indignant, accused me of “slamming” her, and hung up. I finally did receive a partial refund after my bank credit card representative repeatedly disputed the charges on my behalf but there’s no question but that the company is a cleverly designed scam whose sole purpose is to take trusting customers’ money.
