I recently received what i thought was my yearly renewal fee for my Discount global travel network which a few years back i paid about 7000.00 for which i paid 210.65 over a period of 2 years, because this is the only way i could afford it. We were told we could use this service the rest of our lives after completing the payment plan as long as we paid 99.00 a year to continue service. I recently went online to check out a vacation plan, and found No DISCOUNT GLOBAL TRAVEL as i knew it! When calling their number in Michigan i found out they had gone out of business!
and was replaced with another service, who had sent me what i thought was my yearly fee renewal form...but it had increased to 139.00 for some global explorer travel software!...Only after i had called i had found out this was a new company offering me this service. I had not heard anything from the original company, about any trouble with their company. Yet when i bring up Global Discount Travel on BBB it gives me this service out of SanDiego? I wonder if the original company has disbanded and started another company???? dumping all of it's former member and starting anew. 7000.00 dollars was alot of money to pay out. I feel this was an injustice to all it's members and this company an its President should pay restitution for such a criminal act! and should be held accountable! Especially not having the balls to let it's members know. I did not use the service very much but was waiting till my husband and i would retire, and planned on using it. I would be interested in any class action suit against this company.
